How to play
A quiet walk, then a cast
Open the vale from the Play page. Everything saves on this device. No account, no timers that lock fishing.

Fishing
- Stand on a dock or bank until the prompt reads Fish · Space or E.
- A cast spends one bait. Wrong bait means fewer bites, not a hard stop. Glow is strongly preferred in the cave.
- Watch the bobber. A real bite starts a minigame: pond and millpond use a wide timing bar; river is faster; lake is hold-to-tension; cave is an erratic band.
- Landed fish go in the journal. Misses still count as sightings (silhouette).
Where to fish
- Calm Pond — west pier. Sit the dock to skip toward dusk or dawn.
- Rocky River — north bridge. Crickets help.
- Deep Misty Lake — east dock. Night eels after dark.
- Crystal Cave Pool — south hill mouth. Glow bait, erratic tension.
- Misty Millpond — east raft, after 10 unique fish, a cottage visit, and two hearts with a neighbor.
Cottage and neighbors
The cottage sits west of the crossroads. Inside: bed (sleep fills rest and warmth), mail, aquarium, trophy wall, packing bench, forecast board. Wren, Bramble, and Lark remember your last catch. One gift a day. Wren’s stall sells bait and later rods (River Finch, Cave Spine) for coins plus a specific fish.
Hunger, warmth, rest
Three small pip rows sit under the clock. They start full. An evening outside can go poorly; it is not a fight, and it never stops you from landing a common fish.
- Hunger — empty means a tighter minigame and a slower walk. Rares won’t bite. You can still cook a common.
- Warmth — frost, rain, night, and cave damp take it. Cottage, tea, cloak, lantern, and a campfire give it back.
- Rest — walking is cheap; the hook minigame is not. Sleep in the bed. Sitting the pond dock still skips time, and it also restores a little rest and warmth.
Eat berries from the pack for a snack. Cook pan perch, dawn tea, river stew, or cave broth at the packing bench. One meal at a time, until you sleep.
If warmth or rest empty at night (or you are very hungry and worn), you wake in the cottage at dawn. Wren leaves a note. You lose a little equipped bait, never coins, rods, or the journal. Once per in-game day.
Fisher rank
Landing new fish, personal bests, and board work change your hands. Rank 1–8. On a rank-up you pick one habit, not a skill tree. Rank opens a campfire kit, cloak, and lantern at Wren’s stall so night and frost fish stay possible. Sunperch spam will not carry you far — repeats cap.
