Spring–fall: open water and current areas when bait is present.
Often mixed in reports with white bass schools — identify carefully.
Winter: deeper if present.

Low light and bait blitzes — same windows as white bass when schools are up.

Open basin and points where shad school (boat advantage).
Same public access as white bass — no secret pins.
